Scientific dating of historic timbers Dendrochronological analysis was undertaken on six of the eight samples taken from the clasped purlin roof at 5 Pottergate, Lincoln. This resulted in the creation of a single site chronology, FPGLSQ01, which comprised four samples with an overall length of 69 rings. Unfortunately, neither the site chronology nor the remaining two ungrouped samples could be successfully dated. Hence, no dendrochronological dating evidence was produced for the construction of the roof.
