The Smart Vehicle Security with Facial Authentication is an advanced embedded system that assists in securing a vehicle through real-time, camera-based user recognition. Using a USB webcam connected to a Raspberry Pi 4, it analyses a live video feed to detect faces, process their features, and grant or deny access without relying on traditional keys or key fobs. The system compares detected faces against a pre-trained database of authorized users. The processed data is used to trigger an actuator (such as a relay) to unlock the vehicle or enable the ignition. This cost-effective and robust system enhances vehicle security, provides a keyless and secure authentication method, and is more flexible than traditional alarms. It effectively blends modern computer vision with embedded systems for a smart, reliable security experience. The study highlights the potential of biometric-based authentication in developing secure, intelligent, and user-friendly vehicle security systems suitable for modern smart transportation environments.
