Abstract The European Tenders Electronic Daily database offers an opportunity to explore the specifics of variables in public procurement notices. The characteristics of non-awarded LOTs within procurement procedures are the subject of the current study. Based on the research, a relationship can be identified between unsuccessful procedures and the awarding criteria, the type of contracting authority, the subject of the procurement, the source of financing, and the type of procedure. The interpretation of the results also contributes to a clearer understanding of the conditions for public procurement performance, serving actors in the public procurement community, including scholars, policymakers, and implementers.
