Teachers play a vital role in shaping the quality and inclusiveness of school education. This study examines the perspectives of 300 high school and higher secondary teachers in Thrissur district, Kerala, on various aspects of school education, including school facilities, institutional leadership, teacher passion, teaching style, teaching–learning processes, and challenges faced in schools. The analysis reveals that teachers are generally satisfied with school infrastructure, including classrooms, furniture, comfort, and safety measures, and perceive institutional leadership positively, highlighting principals’ supportive, motivating, and participatory approach. Teachers display high professional commitment, pride in their profession, and focus on student learning through student-centred pedagogy, diverse teaching techniques, formative assessments, and ICT integration. Despite these strengths, teachers identify significant challenges, primarily related to students’ lack of motivation, low interest in studies, and personal or family problems. Teacher-specific issues such as workload, work–life balance, and technological adaptation were also noted. The study underscores the need for policies that enhance teacher support, professional development, leadership training, and student welfare mechanisms. Strengthening these areas can promote effective teaching, improve learning outcomes, and ensure inclusive and high-quality school education in Kerala.
