Given the importance of the assembly process in terms of time and cost, accounting for up to 50% of total development time and up to 20% of manufacturing costs, it is crucial to develop tools that can generate optimal assembly sequences for any given project scenario. This research proposes the development of a tool for generating assembly sequences for a complex product using optimization approaches. The precedence and constraints that drive the stochastic optimization model that defines the optimal assembly sequences are generated from the analysis of the functional architecture and modularity of the product. A study was conducted to analyze the assembly sequence of an electric river boat, ensuring its optimal execution in all phases.
