Every long-term resident of Vancouver has a crow story. Swooping, cawing, stealing, and otherwise disrupting our daily lives with its mischief, the crow is as omnipresent and part of the fabric of the cityscape as the North Shore mountains. Every winter, over 10 000 of these birds engage in a daily mass migration with the rise and fall of the sun, tracing the spine of the Millennium Line between the city’s shorelines and their industrial roost site in Burnaby. Agents of the In-Between activates in the darkest days of the year - when the peak of the crows’ migration collides with the end of the human workday. In this time of collective migration, the crow invites us into a story of their own on the everyday landscapes we cohabitate. What might we learn if we choose to listen?
