This preprint is the English version of a previous document prepared by Alfonso Freire Sánchez for his students at CEU Abat Oliba University. Abstract This guide aims to orient students in the field of Social Sciences, especially those in Communication studies, in the development of their final university academic project. Regardless of its specific format, the final project is usually conceived as a culminating and independent piece of work through which students demonstrate their academic development, critical thinking, research skills and professional readiness. Its main purpose is to show that students can apply, in an integrated and coherent way, the knowledge, competencies and learning outcomes acquired throughout their university studies. Although each university, department and study programme establish its own requirements, assessment criteria, style guidelines and supervision procedures, there are a series of theoretical and practical principles that are usually shared across final undergraduate projects. For this reason, this document may be used as a practical guide to support students during the planning, development and completion of their project, as well as to address many of the doubts and concerns that may arise during the process.
