Equine asthma remains one of the most important chronic respiratory conditions affecting horses, with implications for welfare and performance. While environmental modification continues to underpin treatment, recent studies have explored additional strategies, including inhaled corticosteroids, nebulised drug delivery and forage management, aimed at improving clinical signs or reducing exacerbation risk. Importantly, these approaches have not all shown consistent benefit. This review summarises four recent studies that together reflect the evolving evidence base for pharmacological and environmental management of equine asthma.
