Introduction: Tissue expander (TE) breast reconstruction may be complicated by TE flipping or migration, impacting expansion and breast pocket formation. Absorbable, synthetic braided sutures (Vicryl, Ethicon, Inc., Somerville, NJ, USA), lose tensile strength within 14 days whereas non-absorbable braided polyester sutures (Ethibond, Ethicon Inc., Cornelia, GA, USA), provide long-term tensile strength. This study aims to examine how suture selection influences postoperative complications.
