Does amiodarone-infused biatrial patches prevent new-onset postoperative atrial fibrillation and reduce MACCE in patients undergoing heart surgery?
PPopulation40 patients undergoing heart surgery. Exclusions included transplant, mechanical circulatory support device, reoperations, history of atrial fibrillation/flutter, anti-arrhythmic or QT prolongation drugs, and ejection fraction <35%.
IInterventionCardiaMend patches (porous acellular matrix derived from fetal bovine dermis) infused with 70 mg amiodarone, placed on both right and left atria.
