Abstract

We report a case of a 39-year-old male with nanophthalmos who presented with decreased vision and was diagnosed with uveal effusion syndrome (UES) in the left eye. Imaging confirmed reduced axial length, thickened sclera and choroid, and an inferonasal exudative retinal detachment. Remarkably, the condition resolved with systemic corticosteroids alone, without the need for surgical intervention. This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and demonstrates that medical management can be effective in selected cases of UES associated with nanophthalmos.
