Archaeological evaluation at 5 The Street, Sheering, Harlow, Essex revealed three pits. A small assemblage of pottery was recovered from two of the pits (F1 and F3) consisting of Colchester-type ware, dating to the medieval period. A small assemblage of pottery and fragment of grinding stone was also recovered from the subsoil (L2) consisting of Medieval sandy greyware. Although the evidence recovered from the evaluation is limited, it does reveal medieval activity on the development site. Modern pit F2 was also recorded.
