This study examined the effects of a creative dance class applying the SCAMPER technique on middle school students’ dance expression ability, emotional intelligence, and creative dance educational outcomes. The SCAMPER technique was used to promote creative thinking and structured idea generation within movement-based activities. Data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analyses. The results showed that dance expression ability had significant positive correlations with both emotional intelligence and creative dance educational outcomes, and it was identified as a significant predictor of emotional intelligence even after controlling for peer relationships. In particular, it had the strongest explanatory power for self-emotional understanding, indicating that creative dance facilitates students’ self-awareness and emotional integration. No significant gender differences were found, suggesting that the program provides inclusive learning opportunities. However, differences based on peer relationships highlight the importance of social context in emotional and expressive development. Overall, the findings suggest that a SCAMPER-based creative dance program is an effective educational approach that integrates cognitive, emotional, and expressive development, supporting a shift toward more holistic dance education.
