Flooding poses a growing threat to transportation networks worldwide, disrupting critical infrastructure, mobility, and economic activities. As the backbone of societal functioning, resilient transportation systems are vital for disaster response, economic stability, and equitable access. This review synthesizes recent advancements and methodologies in assessing flood impacts on transportation infrastructure, focusing on data integration, modeling approaches, and impact assessments. The study maps the landscape of current research, highlights emerging trends, and identifies key gaps, including underrepresentation of advanced AI techniques, limited focus on diverse flood types, and insufficient integration of climate change projections. The review underscores the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration, real-time data application, and standardized frameworks to enhance resilience. By addressing these gaps, this work offers a roadmap for future research to safeguard transportation networks against escalating flood risks and align them with sustainable urban development goals.
