Objective: The aim of this study is to examine all orthodontics-related studies indexed in the TR Index and to present a quantitative analysis of the obtained data. Material and Methods: On July 3, 2024, a detailed electronic search was conducted in the TR Index database using the keywords ''ortodontik'' and ''orthodontics''. 1,083 articles published between 1996 and 2023 were included. The title, journal name, publication type, publication year, publication language, author names, author affiliations, and citation counts were recorded. The 20 most cited articles were identified. All data were manually transferred to Microsoft Excel. Statistical analyses were performed using Microsoft Excel and the SPSS software (version 23.0). Results: It was determined that the 1,083 articles were published in 70 different scientific journals, and the Turkish Journal of Orthodontics ranked first, with 427 articles (39.7%). 72% of the articles and all of the 20 most cited articles were research articles. A statistically significant difference was found between publication type and citation count (p=0.019); review articles were observed to receive more citations on average. The citation counts ranged from 0 to 14. A statistically significant difference was also found between publication language and citation count (p=0.00); Turkish articles received more citations. Conclusion: This bibliometric study has revealed the general trends and citation distributions of orthodontic publications in Türkiye. The results will contribute to the more effective planning of future orthodontic research and to enhancing the scientific impact of publications.
