Enterprise resource planning (ERP) ecosystems are undergoing significant transformation as organizations increasingly adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to modernize operational workflows and improve enterprise decision-making. Traditional ERP interfaces often require complex navigation structures, extensive technical training, and fragmented workflow coordination across enterprise systems. The emergence of conversational artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs) has introduced new opportunities for simplifying enterprise interactions through natural-language operational interfaces. This paper proposes a governance-oriented conversational ERP framework for SAP enterprise ecosystems that integrates AI copilots, conversational workflow orchestration, operational intelligence, and explainable AI governance mechanisms. The proposed framework introduces a multi-layer enterprise architecture capable of supporting conversational workflow management, operational analytics, enterprise decision support, and human-in-the-loop governance across SAP-centric operational environments. The study examines implementation considerations involving workflow orchestration, AI explainability, operational accountability, enterprise security, and governance oversight. The paper contributes a practical enterprise-oriented framework for conversational ERP modernization within digitally transformed SAP ecosystems.
