The Spatial and temporal weeping over ruins A reading of the poem “On the Heights of Pain”

This study, entitled “The Spatial and temporal weeping over ruins”A reading of the poem “On the Heights of Pain’ by the Poet Saleh Al-Zahrani,” aims to explore the features of pain in contemporary Saudi poetry through an approach that examines grief and lamenting the ruins, and their creative impact on Saleh Al-Zahrani’s poetry. The reading, in its essence, is suggestively directed towards psychological and stylistic horizons this is what is brewing in the poet’s consciousness and what is happening with the reasons for vision and formation towards the poetic self and its relationship with the other in multiple contexts, the most important of which are: the context of time, place, and man and what he suffers from, and the conflict and its effect in determining these psychological ties. The study followed a descriptive and analytical approach to describe the ruins of time and lament them, and to analyze the poet’s psychological invocations. The study was built on an introduction, a preface, three chapters and a conclusion, and the study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which is that lamenting the ruins of time is considered an outlet for the poet, through it, he began to express his immortal poetic experience in the context of the present, the future, and destiny, seeking the dialectic of presence and absence, and revealing the present and the past. His emotions towards the reality in which he lives were manifested, so that nothing remained for him in the ruins but memories, longing, yearning, and the weeping of time.
