This study examines the impact of an adaptive web-based gamification platform on improving English communication skills among secondary school learners. A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 60 ninth-grade students in India. Participants were randomly assigned to an experimental group (n = 30) that used in adaptive mode or a control group (n = 30) that received traditional classroom instruction. The four-week intervention targeted fluency, accuracy, vocabulary, and interaction. Data from pre-test and post-tests were analyzed using paired and independent t-tests, with effect sizes calculated using Cohen’s d. The findings of the study revealed that the experimental group showed significant improvement across all communication components. Overall communication proficiency increased from M = 18.6 (SD = 2.3) to M = 31.2 (SD = 3.1). Adaptive web-based gamification offers a scalable and engaging approach to enhancing communication skills in secondary education and so the study provides globally relevant evidence supporting technology-enhanced language learning.
