Education is a continuous process that contributes significantly to individual development and societal advancement. It serves as a key instrument for acquiring knowledge, skills, values, and critical thinking abilities necessary for meaningful living. In Nigeria, formal education progresses through structured levels, including nursery, primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, with university education playing a central role in fostering change and sustainable development. The emergence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has significantly transformed teaching and learning processes in higher education globally, particularly in public universities. This transformation has introduced innovative approaches such as e-learning, which enhance access to educational resources and improve learning flexibility. However, the effectiveness and acceptance of e-learning may vary among students due to several factors, including gender. Understanding these differences is essential for improving instructional delivery and ensuring inclusive educational practices. This study therefore examines the role of gender in shaping students’ perceptions and attitudes toward e-learning in South East Nigeria. It highlights the importance of integrating ICT in education while addressing disparities that may influence learners’ engagement and academic performance in digital learning environments
