The article substantiates the need to improve the efficiency of material resources logistics in state-owned institutions of the penitentiary system based on digitalization. The limitations of traditional approaches to material flow management, including fragmentation of information systems, high transaction costs, and insufficient process transparency, are analyzed. It is shown that the implementation of automated inventory management systems, electronic document flow, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence elements enables end-to-end traceability of resources, optimization of stock levels, and reduction of transaction costs. Special attention is paid to the integration of logistics processes (procurement, storage, distribution) into a unified digital environment as a key condition for the transition from a reactive to a proactive management model. The main challenges of digital transformation (investment requirements, competence development, information security) are identified, and directions for overcoming them are proposed. The research results can be used to improve public administration and enhance the operational efficiency of state-owned institutions in the digital economy.
