Abstract The Jain ethos, rooted in the principles of non-violence (ahimsa) and non-possessiveness (Aparigraha), offers a strong ethical framework for modern commerce. In an era marked by aggressive competition, consumerism, and environmental challenges, Jain ethical values promote responsible business practices, sustainability, and social accountability. This paper examines how Jain principles influence contemporary commercial activities such as ethical entrepreneurship, fair trade, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable consumption. By emphasizing integrity, transparency, minimal exploitation of resources, and respect for all forms of life, the Jain ethos encourages a balance between profit-making and moral responsibility. The study highlights the relevance of Jain ethical philosophy in fostering long-term business success, trust among stakeholders, and a humane economic system in the modern global market.
