This article examines the feasibility of introducing ABC and XYZ analysis methods into the metrological support system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, taking into account current combat conditions and experience in integrating NATO standards as tools for optimising management decisions, improving the efficiency of resource provision, and maintaining the proper technical condition of measuring equipment. Main findings of the study: The current regulatory framework has been analysed, and it has been determined that the existing system has the potential for digitalisation and functional improvement. An adapted ABC analysis methodology has been developed, based on a multi-factor assessment of the cost, accuracy, frequency of use and criticality of measuring instruments. A formula for determining the integral importance coefficient has been proposed. The application of XYZ analysis within the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been described as a method for forecasting demand and the stability of use of measuring instruments based on the coefficient of variation. An algorithm for classifying measuring instruments by stability has been proposed. The ABC and XYZ methodologies have been integrated into a combined management matrix, which enables the formulation of well-founded decisions regarding priorities for the calibration, repair, production (procurement) and decommissioning of measuring instruments. Practical recommendations are provided for the implementation of the method combining ABC and XYZ analysis techniques, which include an implementation algorithm, the use of information systems, and the expected benefits – both organisational and economic.
