I examined the potential and future direction of vacant house management by Silver Human Resources Centers as a local initiative. Approximately half of the centers managing vacant houses collaborate with local governments. It is necessary to raise awareness that these centers are involved in vacant house management. Furthermore, centers not currently managing vacant houses face limitations in the work they can undertake due to labor shortages and the aging of their members. It is essential to establish an environment where Silver Human Resources Centers can engage in vacant house management by collaborating with local governments, regional businesses, and neighboring centers.
