This study aimed to develop the prediction model for mine drainage passive treatment process using concrete sludge-based alkaline material “PAdeCS”. Small-scale continuous treatment tests revealed that PAdeCS successfully induced the pH rise and resultant metal precipitation, while the performance was later significantly declined along with the seasonal temperature decrease and the formation of heavy metal precipitation passivation. Thus, we considered temperature changes and passivation effects into the prediction model to enhance the model’s accuracy. Simulation results greatly reproduce the pH and metal concentration changes by incorporating the passivation phenomena. Overall, the model constructed has the potential to greatly contribute to the performance prediction of passive treatment process with PAdeCS.
