This study evaluates the architectural data concerning the aqueduct lines identified along the routes of Çakalderesi, Kemerköy, and Side (Kemer) Neighborhood, as part of the archaeological surface surveys conducted in the Side territory during 2025. Comparative analyses clarify the chronological growth and structural transformation phases of the water transmission system that supplied the urban core throughout the Roman Period; they further allow for a holistic reinterpretation of the line’s construction processes and functional continuity. Field data demonstrate that the diverse masonry techniques observed throughout the line are not the product of a single phase construction program; instead, they point toward a multi-layered infrastructure network shaped by successive interventions. The uniform conglomerate block masonry documented on the Kemerköy line, alongside a planning approach in harmony with the topography, confirms that the original construction phase of the structure has remained largely intact. In the Çakalderesi section, limited yet distinct traces of repair suggest that the line underwent intervention during the 3rd century AD. By contrast, the later aqueduct row in the Kemer neighborhood, built with a brick-heavy masonry technique, proves that the system was reorganized in subsequent periods and transformed to meet urban water demands. A comprehensive assessment indicates that the Side water conveyance system was a multi-phase and dynamic infrastructure network, designed in the Early Imperial Period, repaired in the 3rd century AD, and maintained through partial reorganizations in Late Antiquity. These results define the position of Side more clearly within this context by providing new data for discussions on water management, engineering practices, and infrastructure continuity in Roman provincial cities.
