Key Points
The aim was to assess whether CT-guided lead placement can prevent P-wave oversensing in extravascular ICD systems.
Patients received either CT-guided lead placement or standard techniques.
Comparative analysis measured incidences of P-wave oversensing in both groups.
Event rates and statistical significance were evaluated.
The CT-guided group had a 30% lower rate of P-wave oversensing compared to the standard group (p<0.01).
Effect size indicated significant improvement in arrhythmia detection rate with CT-guided leads (HR 0.7, 95% CI 0.5-0.9).
Overall patient satisfaction increased in the CT-guided group (p=0.02).
