Migration of Fish Bones to the Bile Duct Following Hepaticojejunostomy
Key Points
Migrated fish bones can be detected safely by imaging techniques like CT, enabling timely intervention.
In cases of migrated fish bones, treatment through single-balloon enteroscopy proves effective, aiding patient recovery.
The occurrence of migration mainly affects individuals with surgically altered biliary anatomy, highlighting specific risks.
Assessments confirm the importance of recognizing this condition early to prevent complications related to biliary obstruction.
Abstract
This migration may occur in patients with surgically altered biliary anatomy. Most migrated fish bones can be safely detected by CT, and treated by single-balloon enteroscopy.
