Abstract

The aim of the present study was to analyze the chemical composition of Trigonella foenum graecum extract. The extract was obtained using 50% aqueous ethanol extraction solution to extract Trigonella foenum graecum seeds. Plants continue to be major resources for therapeutic compounds. Plants have always been an exemplary source of drugs and many of the currently available drugs have been derived directly or indirectly. Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) is an annual plant belongs to family Leguminosae. It is famous spices in human food. The seeds and green leaves of fenugreek are used in food as well as in medicinal application that is the old practice of human history. The chemical composition of fenugreek was analyzed by UV-Vis spectra analysis, FTIR analysis for fenugreek, TLC analysis of fenugreek, HPLC analysis of fenugreek.
