Abstract

Mobile financial services (MFS) have emerged as a critical tool for economic empowerment in developing regions, particularly among agricultural producers who face diverse socio-economic challenges. The research employed a mixed-method approach combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to gather data from 300 respondents across different regions of Morocco. Data analysis used statistical tools for quantitative insights and thematic coding for qualitative content. Senegalese agricultural producers in Morocco showed an adoption rate of approximately 45%, significantly higher among those who face greater financial constraints. Usage patterns revealed a preference for short-term credit facilities over savings, indicating a more immediate need for liquidity management. The study concludes that MFS has the potential to enhance economic stability and reduce poverty in Senegalese agricultural communities by providing accessible financing solutions. Policy makers should consider implementing targeted awareness campaigns and partnerships with local financial institutions to facilitate wider adoption of MFS among vulnerable producers.
