Abstract

Doctors in India today are mostly flooded by administrative work, spending nearly 50% of their day on documentation and scheduling instead of treating patients. This problem is made worse by India's linguistic diversity, as most of the existing digital health tools are designed only for English-speaking environments. Our project, Hamari Health, is an AI-powered operating system built to automate these repetitive tasks for small clinics and independent practitioners. The system includes five main modules: a 24/7 AI voice receptionist for automated appointment bookings, a multilingual AI scribe that supports seven Indian languages (including Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi), auto-generated prescriptions, a centralized WhatsApp inbox, and a tool to parse lab reports into visual trends. By using a tech stack of React.js, Node.js, and LLMs like GPT-4, we created a platform that fits into a doctor's natural workflow without requiring them to spend more time behind a screen. Pilot testing in clinics across Ahmedabad showed that the system successfully reduced documentation time and helped practitioners focus more on patient care. This project shows how AI can practically solve real-world healthcare inefficiencies in a diverse country like India.
