Abstract

Abstract: The global demand for paper products continues to rise, placing pressure on traditional wood-based paper production methods. This review highlights the potential of sugarcane bagasse, a byproduct of sugar processing, as a viable substitute for paper production. Its primary objective is to evaluate the potential of sugarcane bagasse as a sustainable alternative. The novelty of this review lies in its comprehensive analysis of the physical and chemical properties of bagasse, its processing techniques, and the economic feasibility of its use in the paper industry. Environmental concerns and the need for sustainable practices have led to the exploration of alternative raw materials for paper manufacturing. Sugarcane bagasse, a byproduct of sugarcane processing, has emerged as a promising candidate due to its abundant availability, renewability, and low environmental impact. The use of sugarcane bagasse for paper production represents a significant steforward in the development of sustainable materials.
