Key Points

  • The central aim is to conceptualize architecture as a foundational element that supports various interconnected fields.
  • Developed theoretical framework for architecture as a support structure.
  • Analyzed ten interdependent fields related to architectural concepts.
  • Explored relationships between architecture and structural elements, joints, and infrastructure.
  • Architecture is shown to stabilize validated knowledge over time.
  • It acts as a framework for executing protocols and supports media mediation.
  • The study reveals that architecture facilitates morphogenetic expansion and movement within systemic structures.

Abstract

This essay develops architecture as the support layer within a system of ten interdependent fields. Knowledge is treated as a structure that must support its own weight over time. Concepts function as structural elements, publications as joints, and platforms as infrastructure. In relation to the other fields, architecture supports linguistic structure, provides the framework for protocol execution, stabilises validated knowledge, materialises systemic regulation, structures territorial distribution, supports media mediation, enables morphogenetic expansion, supports movement and circulation, and ultimately becomes integrated within infrastructure. Architecture therefore provides the structural stability necessary for long-term persistence.
