Key Points

  • To introduce a numerical model and simulation for understanding cement debonding during endodontic procedures.
  • Developed a numerical model to analyze cementation processes.
  • Simulated various loading conditions affecting cement debonding.
  • Assessed the mechanical performance of endodontic post systems under stress.
  • The numerical model provides insights into conditions leading to debonding.
  • Simulations indicated optimal conditions for reducing debonding rates.
  • Findings suggest improvements for endodontic post retention strategies.

Abstract

Cementation of the endodontic post is a mandatory step to provide the needed retention of the endodontic post, ensuring successful mechanical resistance to different loading conditions. This success will be translated into successful treatment. The issue of cement debonding from its place needs special attention. In this paper, we want to introduce a numerical model and simulation of cement debonding.
