Digital literacy programmes are critical for older adults in urban areas of Nigeria to enhance their technological independence and access to information. A comprehensive search strategy was employed using databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Studies published between and were included based on specific inclusion criteria. The review identified a significant proportion (45%) of elderly participants reported improved technological skills after participating in digital literacy programmes, with notable improvements in using smartphones for communication and accessing online health information. Digital literacy programmes have shown promise in enhancing the technological capabilities and information access of older adults in Nigerian urban neighborhoods. Further longitudinal studies are recommended to assess long-term outcomes and scalability of these programmes across different demographic groups and settings.
