Key Points

  • This report aims to consolidate viewer systems and correct Layer 2 classifications for the Merutan Theory project.
  • Description of the Merutan DB 3D Viewer for visualizing Silent and Near-Silent Collapse blocks.
  • Development of the Merutan Server Viewer for browsing DuckDB databases with evaluation results.
  • Application of a ratio-based, four-class Layer 2 definition across multiple super-resolution models.
  • Identification of Silent Dual and Silent Multiple blocks across all models.
  • Near-Silent classification is dominated by Multiple blocks (58-90%).
  • Upscayl High model shows an unusual dominance of Silent None (86.53%).

Abstract

Abstract: This version consolidates the viewer systems and provides a corrected Layer 2 classification for the Merutan Theory project. The deposit contains three documents and sixteen supplementary videos. Document 1 describes the Merutan DB 3D Viewer, a local diagnostic platform for multi‑axis visualisation of Silent and Near‑Silent Collapse blocks across seven SSIM internal component axes. The viewer implements the ratio‑based four‑class Layer 2 definition (None / Single / Dual / Multiple) and provides interactive 3D, heatmap, and animation views for four AI upscaling models. Document 2 describes the Merutan Server Viewer, a local web application for interactively browsing DuckDB databases containing super‑resolution evaluation results. It provides REST API access, per‑image heatmap views, and DuckDB SQL query support, complementing the 3D Viewer with 2D tabular analysis. Document 3 presents a corrected Layer 2 classification analysis, superseding findings in v1.1 and v1.2. Applying the ratio‑based definition consistently across all four models (81,975,528 blocks per model) reveals that Silent Dual and Silent Multiple blocks exist in all models, Near‑Silent is dominated by Multiple (58–90%), and Upscayl High exhibits anomalous Silent None dominance (86.53%). The supplementary videos (16 files) illustrate Axis 5 behaviour, Silent/Near‑Silent collapse classes, viewer operation, and DuckDB SQL execution.
