Abstract

This Master’s Project argues that narrative film is an underutilized but highly effective tool for increasing the public’s understanding of planning. It introduces Screenplanner, a structured, web-based resource designed to help planners select, analyze, and deploy films as a means of community engagement. Rather than advocating for specific planning outcomes, Screenplanner seeks to improve the public’s ability to understand, evaluate, and meaningfully participate in planning processes.
