Abstract

Preoperative understanding of complex congenital heart disease is crucial for proper management. Surgical direction of partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage and atrial septal defect closure when combined by the rare azygos continuation of interrupted inferior vena cava (IVC) may be associated with anomalous systemic to pulmonary venous connection, causing right-to-left shunt. We report a 44-year-old male with a history of congenital heart disease repaired in early childhood. Diagnostic imaging revealed an interrupted IVC with azygos continuation draining into the right upper pulmonary vein to the left atrium. CT play an essential role in recognition of venous anomalies with unexplained cyanosis.
