Key Points

  • This research aims to evaluate the effects of liraglutide on renal microcirculatory homeostasis after diabetes induction.
  • Short-term intervention with liraglutide post-diabetes induction.
  • Assessment of renal microcirculatory function.
  • Evaluation of microvascular dysfunction and kidney structure.
  • Liraglutide restored renal microcirculatory homeostasis.
  • Significant mitigation of microvascular dysfunction observed.
  • Preserved kidney structure indicated potential for preventing diabetic renal injury.

Abstract

Our findings demonstrate that short-term liraglutide restores renal microcirculatory homeostasis in the post-induction phase, mitigating microvascular dysfunction and preserving kidney structure, highlighting the potential therapeutic value in preventing the progression of diabetic renal injury.
