Abstract

This paper validates that the high-frequency (HF) signal voltage injection method for position sensorless control can be applied to the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive with reference flux vector calculation direct torque control (RFVC DTC). Recently, the position sensorless control with HF signal injection method was introduced into several types of IPMSM drives. However, the control has not yet been introduced to the IPMSM drive in RFVC DTC. This paper demonstrates through simulations and experiments that the position sensorless control with HF signal injection method can also be applied to IPMSM drives with RFVC DTC.
