Abstract

南极半岛自中生代以来受古太平洋板块俯冲和冈瓦纳大陆裂解影响,经历了多期次构造变形、岩浆与成矿作用,成矿年代主要集中在早白垩世(137~93Ma)与古新世-始新世(62~46Ma)。矿化点通常分布于中酸性侵入体边缘的低磁异常带中。低磁异常区内广泛发育钾化、泥化、青磐岩化、绢英岩化等蚀变作用,显示出斑岩矿化特征。南极半岛构造演化过程及区内侵入岩的地球化学特征(如铜元素含量、Sr/Y比值、Sr-Nd同位素及V/Sc比值等)支持俯冲背景下洋壳脱水后部分熔融或软流圈地幔部分熔融形成的熔体加入引发岩浆高氧逸度及铜聚集,从而促进区内多期含矿斑岩的形成。基于以上认识,本文圈定了南设德兰群岛、昂韦尔岛-格雷厄姆地、阿德莱德岛-玛格丽特湾及布莱克-拉西特-奥维尔等四个矿化集中区内几个具有较大斑岩铜成矿潜力的区域。
