Abstract

This paper proposes a Digital Twin framework called “Virtual Factory” for education and skill development in manufacturing. It facilitates real-time interaction between physical equipment and digital models. It also incorporates Augmented Reality (AR) technologies to facilitate intuitive understanding. Prototype systems, including a motor system, a factory model and a robot arm, were developed and evaluated.
