Abstract

平台推荐算法正使用户的新闻接触高度个性化,“算法隔离”为新闻的公共可见性带来了潜在风险。在此背景下,是否存在突破趣缘隔离、为更广泛用户所共享的新闻? 这些新闻具有怎样的特征,并如何随用户的新闻浏览行为而改变? 本研究采用虚拟代理测试法对国内某头部短视频平台的算法分发逻辑开展实验推理,分析新闻在不同条件下的公共可见性分布,并考察公共可见性与新闻价值特征的关联,同时探讨用户选择性接触对公共可见型新闻传播的影响。研究发现,具有接近性和权威性的新闻在算法推荐中公共可见性更高;用户个性化接触与新闻公共性并非对立,在算法调节下可共存或互补。这表明,算法具有通过影响新闻公共可见性而联结群体关系、重塑社会共同体共识基础的潜力。
