Abstract

Contactless measurements of vital signs can provide new ways of monitoring assisted living residents or unreachable patients. Millimetre-wave (mmWave) radars allow for such monitoring and are a privacy free solution that has proven to be effective in the last years. The dataset presented in this paper consists of mmWave radar records of 110 participants collected using two commercial 60 GHz Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave radars for vital signs applications. All measurements are referenced against a class IIa medical device which provides ECG and accelerometer data. This dataset includes subjects of different ages, and with varied health status - 15 individuals present heart-related issues. For each participant tests were carried out in different postures, with post-exercise and holding breath experiments. Extensive demographic information about the participants is included so that researchers can study the influence of these on their vital signs estimations. This dataset can be useful for the community to test algorithms to extract heart rate, improve state-of-the-art processing methods and perform statistical studies with a large age-balanced and subject-varied population.
