Key Points

  • The research aims to understand how light behaves in semiconductor nanostructures using chiral photonic crystals.
  • Examined emission spectra of InAs quantum dots in chiral GaAs microcavities.
  • Analyzed transmission spectra of light in different circular polarizations.
  • Measured and modeled the dispersion of electromagnetic eigenmodes in hybrid structures.
  • Emission spectra varied significantly with different circular polarizations.
  • Transmission spectra showed distinct behaviors in thin chiral subwavelength structures.
  • Modeling provided insights into the dispersion characteristics of the heterostructures.

Abstract

The emission spectra of InAs quantum dots embedded in chiral GaAs microcavities were experimentally studied in various circular polarizations. The transmission spectra of light in various polarizations were examined in thin chiral subwavelength structures based on GaAs waveguides. The dispersion of electromagnetic eigenmodes of the studied heterostructures was measured and modeled.
