AKAkib M. KhanJAJohn AmenOPOliver Perkins

Key Points

  • To evaluate the accuracy of the HipScreen app in measuring hip migration in children with cerebral palsy by both specialists and non-specialists.
  • Assessment of hip migration using the HipScreen app in a community setting.
  • Comparison of measurements taken by specialists and non-specialists with no additional training required.
  • Evaluation of the app's efficacy and safety for hip surveillance programs.
  • HipScreen app accurately measures hip migration in children with cerebral palsy.
  • Non-specialists can use the app effectively without supplementary training.
  • Findings support the app's use in regional and national hip surveillance programs.

Abstract

The HS app is accurate in measuring MP in CP when used by non-specialists and specialists. Non-specialists do not require additional supplementary training. These findings suggest app efficacy and safety in regional and national hip surveillance programmes for children with CP.
