Fashion designers and architects are both in the pursuit of protecting the body, exposing the body, or transforming the body. To broaden the design process, an architect must seek out new methods of creating form and aesthetics. Much can be gathered from consultation with a fashion designer. This project proposes the design of a fashion school through the adaptive reuse of two industrial buildings. This idea comes from the practice of fashion design, in which fabric is altered or layered to fit on a body. In this design process, the building becomes the body, and the adaptations must adhere to its constraints while also working to push beyond them.
