Abstract

International activity is a difficult field of activity, in which a number of factors play an important role, such as the knowledge and personal experience of those involved in this field. People’s diplomacy, unlike official diplomacy, is a relatively new area being studied by scientists, and the role of personality in this process has not been practically studied. In the modern world, the role of people’s diplomacy is also significant in the sphere of relations between states, as well as the role of official diplomacy, therefore, people working in the field of informal international relations at the level of non-governmental organizations must possess a number of not only professional competencies, but also psychological qualities, in the absence of which, even at the informal level, interstate relations can be they are difficult. In this article, we make an attempt to systematize theoretical knowledge on the issue of personality qualities of a professional diplomat, systematize them, and also find out which of these qualities are needed by a specialist working in the field of international relations at the level of public diplomacy.
