Abstract

In the presented article, the processes of formation of public opinion, which performs regulatory functions in various areas of social interaction, are studied. Attention is drawn to the fact that the current regulations establish the obligation of state bodies to create the necessary conditions for the study of public opinion. The results of these studies are used to identify problematic issues of the functioning of public institutions directly related to the activities of state power structures. In fact, public opinion is the basis of a wide range of democratic processes that determine the most important areas of state and legal development. The need to study public opinion is due to the fact that legal coercion measures are applied on the basis of generally accepted ideas about traditional values that establish additional requirements for a responsible subject.
