Abstract

Ethical governance mechanisms are crucial in conflict-affected regions such as Niger, where businesses often operate under challenging conditions. This article employs a qualitative approach to review existing literature on ethical governance mechanisms in conflict zones, focusing on case studies from Niger and neighboring countries. The theoretical framework identifies several ethical governance mechanisms that could be implemented, including enhanced transparency in procurement processes and strengthening community engagement programmes. Businesses should prioritise the development of robust internal controls and engage more closely with local communities to mitigate risks associated with corruption and social instability.
