Abstract

Implications for practice and research Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into nursing education is key to fostering positive attitudes and developing advanced training programmes. Exploring factors influencing AI adoption in nursing and understanding its role in nurse-patient interactions are essential. Research should focus on AI's ethical implications in nursing, ensuring its responsible and equitable use in healthcare practice. ContextAI is significantly shaping healthcare, particularly in nursing. 1 Research indicates that AI impacts nursing roles, clinical care and nurse-patient interactions. 2It is crucial for nursing education to evolve, enabling student nurses to adeptly use AI in practice. 3Studies show a growing interest among nursing students in AI, with a positive attitude towards AI correlating with higher acceptance and intent to use AI in healthcare. 4Experience and perception of AI's ease of use and usefulness enhance this willingness. 4Integrating AI into nursing education will help students understand the importance of AI and prepare future nurses for a technology-driven healthcare environment, highlighting the potential of AI to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
